SHE travels has launched our newest, ladies-only holiday: SHE golfs. The luxury golfing getaway will bring together women who share a passion for the game, or have always wanted to learn to play. This 7 day holiday is the ideal environment for ladies who want to sharpen existing skills, or tee off for the first time, all under the watchful eye of professional golf instructors.
SHE's proud to partner with Rhonda Norman, a fellow travel and incentive program designer, who has spent the past seven years organising corporate golf programs, including five years for Audi Australia.
Rhonda took up the sport over 15 years ago after being continuously left behind in the office during corporate golf days in her male-dominated industry. “I learned quickly that I needed to have another skill set other than what I was employed to do."
“I took my leave, found a ‘learn to play golf’ program and immersed myself in the game for five days. I had a fantastic week and importantly, I could play in the next corporate golf day. It took off from there.”
Rhonda has been instrumental in the planning of the program working closely with SHE to develop a luxury getaway combining daily golf sessions balanced with plenty of time to relax and enjoy the destination.
SHE chose Queenstown, New Zealand as the home base for this year's holidays. SHE loves this destination for so many reasons: stunning scenery, beautiful hotels and accommodation options, excellent food and wine, and of course, some of the best golf courses in this part of the world.
The SHE golfs program begins at the five-star Millbrook Resort, voted Best Golf Hotel at the Inaugural World Golf Awards. Resident golf professionals, Peter Smith and Ben Gallie, will share their expertise and coach ladies on all aspects of the game throughout the week. Peter has played in PGA tournaments around the world, competing against the greats such as Jack Nicklaus. Ben specialises in golf swing analysis and coaches both the Otago Men’s Golf Team and Southland Men’s Golf Team.
Later in the week the ladies will move to the luxury Hotel St Moritz Queenstown, overlooking Lake Wakatipu to The Remarkables mountain range. The central location offers a change of pace and plenty of opportunity to explore the town. Golf sessions continue to head up each day and the group will have the chance to play other local courses including the famous Jacks Point.
